Having a stroke really did me in. Standing and walking were extraordinarily difficult and the left side of my body suffered from impaired coordination. I required a mechanical lift for all basic tasks and functions and I had lost my independence and dignity.
Thankfully, I was admitted to Washington Center and my future looked brighter. The staff were very attentive to my every need and made sure to often ask if I wanted anything. Peter, my PT, was a big contribution to my success. He was very warm and caring, always encouraging me to work harder.
Washington Center has given me back my dignity. My family also was very happy with the experience. I can get around on my own now, with better mobility and increased strength. I would strongly recommend this facility to a friend or family who needs rehab.
